The Imaginaria puppet and moving image festival will return to Binéfar in June

imaginaryThe festival of puppets and moving imagereturns to Binéfar from June 1 to 5 to illuminate the different scenarios where it takes place with magic, fantasy, fun and of course a lot of imagination. Those are the ingredients that the illustrator Valentí Gubianas i Escudé has combined in sign of the ninth edition and that this Thursday was announced at an event held at the Di Marco restaurant, which brought together the local sponsors that support the festival: companies and businesses in the literary capital.

As hosts were the mayor of Binéfar, Alphonse Adamand the Councilor for Culture, Juan Carlos Garcia; the Puppeteers of Binéfar, on which falls the artistic direction; and Thesseo Creative Studio, in the executive production; and the president of the DPH Culture Commission, Francis Matthew. The budget of this edition round the €80,000.

Gubianas has created “a universe of fantastic characters” to illustrate a poster “with a lot of light, that’s why the color yellow, of joy, of life” and has given central prominence to the iconic frog from Imaginaria. “Fantasy, life and movement. There are a lot of diagonals, a lot of moving characters, little nods to the puppets, to the music, and a very open vision like the festival is,” she said. He is also the author of mural dedicated to Imaginaria that was reflected in the Senpa buildingwithin the framework of the Urban Art Contest, organized by the City Council, to decorate four facades or murals in the city.

Alfonso Adán has transferred his gratitude to the collaborating companies for supporting one of the main events and teaches cultural of the locality “which is nourished by the welcome that Binefarenses and visitors give it every year, attracted by the high level of the festival”.

For its part, Juan Carlos Garcia he was “excited about this new edition of Imaginaria, which seeks to promote new scenic spaces, especially outdoors”. He also recalled that behind the sponsorship of the festival there is the Provincial Council of Huesca, the Ministry of Culture, the Comarca de la Litera and private sponsors, “I want to thank all of them for the effort and commitment they make to culture”.

Eva Paricioartistic director of the festival, explained that this year’s edition will revolve around “memory, recollection and emotions”, as he stated when describing some shows that will deal with the classics or historical memory, “very sensitive journeys”. He also stressed that Imaginaria will be “very puppeteer”although there will be room for other disciplines such as music, the circus, street games… Multidisciplinary shows aimed at “early childhood, youth, adults and the elderly with performances in the residence because theater is for everyone”

Between the companies that will parade through Binéfar there will be a particular Aragonese accentalthough they will also act national and international artists with a long history. The schedule will be announced in the next few days.
